About a year ago I bought 2 pair of Cole Haan's on the same day for $200/each. I'm actually quite pleased with the styling, but I now realize that I overpaid. Consequently, I am wearing the hell out of them in an effort to get my money's worth. When they wear out, I'll upgrade.

I've gotten rid of mine, at least most of it.

Well, I should start at the beginning.

When I was 13 (and Miami Vice was rokken) I bought this getup:

White, white pants
No socks
White braided imitation leather shoes
White suspenders with gold colored clips
Bright, bright yellow button up shirt

Ouch.

Problem is the girls at school loved it. That sent me careening for years after but I have since found sartorial salvation and all is right with the world again.

Black Michael Kors suit
Navy pinstripe Kenneth Cole suit

Both ill-fitting, especially the pants, even after spending so much getting them altered, so I probably spent $400 on each suit.

I still wear them every now and then...

I would just like to point out there is nothing wrong with odd black pants.

Claiborne. I keep 'em for sentimental reasons.

Also:
Jos. A Bank notch-lapel tux. Still have it, and will wear it until something better comes along.
J&M square-toe patent leather loafers to go with the tux.
Other unfortunate but not-as-bad shoes by Cole Haan, etc.
Various ugly sweaters, some approaching Cosby-sweater awfulness.
Lots of baseball caps.
