Chicago anniversary dinner recommendation

My wife and I just moved to Chicago, and we'll be celebrating our first anniversary on Tuesday.

If any of you Chicago SF'ers have restaurant recommendations for a nice dinner, I'd be much obliged.

We're staying in Skokie right now but have access to a car, so we'll probably look to eat in the city.

Also, we keep kosher, thought we eat dairy (and fish) at non-kosher restaurants, so we're looking for someplace with good fish and vegetarian options.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Spring is probably the best seafood restaurant in the city. You could--and I'm not just saying this because it's SF--try the RL restaurant. I have a professor who keeps kosher who likes the place. I worry about suggesting other upmarket options because I don't know how great they are about keeping non-kosher things out of their broths, etc, but there's always Charlie Trotters and Alinea, both of whom are likely to accommodate requests. Hell, they probably deal with this regularly... it *is* Chicago.

If you'd like to go someplace substantially chiller, try Spaca Napoli (you can always go here another night). It's pretty far up North, so it's closer to you, and they've got plenty of vegetarian options, too.

I have more when you're ready.

NoMi may not be a bad bet, too. They've got the Asian-Fusion thing going, so they'll have a lot of seafood, too. Nice intro to the mag mile if you're new to the city, too.

After reading the description of your needs, I immediately thought of Spring as well.

I may sound like a broken record (I've mentioned this restaurant many times), but I really love Blackbird for a special-occasion dinner.

Spacca Napoli is very good, but it seems casual for an anniversary dinner.

I'm a huge fan of Spacca Napoli, but I would stick to the other recommendations for an occasion like an anniversary.

Also, I've found that Yelp offers great reviews for Chicago restaurants. I don't always agree with the overall rating or individual reviews, but after reading up on a restaurant on Yelp, I feel like I really know what I'm walking in to.
