Recent purchases

There used to be another thread where this group of people congregated to talk about clothes but i forget. But, cali guys, what is info on fred segal sale. I heard there is nice stuff (ymc, ervell, ndg, w&h, cloak, enodovera, obedient sons, opening ceremony. You guys go yet? Is there a thread on it i'm missing that you guys talked about it in secret?

Few price/stock questions if you guys went on items if you remember:
-Opening Ceremony canvas black laceups in 44?
-YMC cropped trousers?
-Common Project dress shoes (lace or no lace) in 43s?
- What ndg, obedient sons and ervell is stocked?

Most of the newer stuff is cheaply made with poor materials relative to the price point.

Gotta agree with you there. When I tried on the jacket I was like wtf walmart brand zipper...

But the wool is allright (nothing spectacular) and the price point is a lot less than other contemporary designer brands so in my opinion it seems to be priced accordingly (1200 for a coat versus 2000 for Jil Sander)

you just helped make my decision on not purchasing that shirt. at that price-point even with a discount i would at least expect MoP buttons, i am gonna go for my second choice and cheaper alternative, thanks for the info...

Funny because I'm actually thinking of getting ANOTHER overdye oxford.....the overdye seems to fit slightly different from the regular A-body oxford. Maybe it's my imagination but the body seems to fit a bit slimmer, the length appears a tad shorter, the sleeves are def a tad shorter (the normal OCBDs are always about 1" longer than I like), and the neck is actually perfect when buttoned up all the way.

The buttons are def not MoP but that's not a dealbreaker for me

I also like that Cucinelli sweater a lot, and the Flatheads are dope (cool back pocket pattern)

Is there an easy way to tell the difference between the 2? I have one my dad used to wear racing in the early-mid 70s when i was a lad but I don't know if it's actually from the 60s or early 70s and he doesn't remember either. I freakin' LOVE that jacket too. i hadn't considered adding another but....

If this is the case I may need an overdye...
sleeves are about 1" long for me too, and I could use a slightly shorter hem

I agree, quality might be so-so still the cut/shape is amazing.

at higher price points, you should be getting higher quality materials (zippers, buttons etc) since it doesnt cost any money to make a good cut....but I hear ya, I'd be more inclined to pay $$ for a good cut with lesser materials than an inferior cut with top notch materials
