No, my look is not high contrast. I also do not wear resort style clothing.
I can tell you what my aesthetic isn't... my aesthetic isn't anything you have to adopt wholecloth, e.g. workwear, Western, etc.
On a good day. Right now I'm wearing paintballer shorts with a Volcom shirt. (It's also laundry day, and the first day of Summer to boot.)Seriously? Don't you just wear random tops with raw denim and dunks?
As I said, where I am isn't necessarily where I want to be. I definitely want to get both black and brown boots, maybe a Schott Perfecto, a military jacket etc.Not hating, but that's a lot of talking about aesthetics. You don't need thousands of bucks, man.
I think there's some validity to my idea of basing the "aesthetic" around an outfit rather than the outfit around an aesthetic. I'm just a visual person first and foremost. At the same time, I don't believe in excessive layering or clothing that gets too far away from the strictly functional. Also, clothes have connotations regardless of if you care. If i wear a lot of drapey black **** it's going to give off a different vibe than if i wear loose raw denim, a tucked in workshirt and redwings, even if i'm the same person.
If I had to choose an aesthetic for myself, I'd say "punk". Not "punk" as in "punk music", but "punk" as in "lowly, pissant white boy."You say you have an idea of how you want to dress in the future or when you have more money and i'm guessing that is a certain style or aesthetic. It may be a list of items but if you have a vision of what you want, i'm guessing those items will form some kind of style.
Here's a fit from BrettChaotix that's in line with where I want to go (and to some degree, where I was last winter.)
How is Brett's look something that you "need to reach and get to"? (not talking **** on Brett, looks good and I dig the Jam/Dior shirt).....but it's not an overly conceptual aesthetic that you can't pull together fairly easily and quickly (in terms of aesthetic, the individual pieces themselves may be hard to get).
