Are you referring to Ping Pong? It's delicious.

DC has a lot of good food, I ate at this killer ultra-hip Greek/Lebanese place last time I was there. Can't remember the name. Also some good places in DuPont area.

ans chinatown express. The dim sum in the ABC building in Rosslyn isn't bad.
I like the peking duck at "Pecking Gourmet" and their Lamb chops.

Kind of out of touch with DC nowadays, but I disagree about the eating around here. I think the food scene is pretty damn good in the metro area, although I do end up driving a lot. Thai, Korean, Vietnamese, Indian, Jamaican, Chinese, Lebanese, the ******* taco trucks on Veirs Mill Road, El Pollo ******* Rico- really, I'm a happy camper for the most part. Ray's makes it easy to get a fantastic steak. That is not to say there isn't a dearth of great pizza (Mia's seemed decent the one time I went there) and bagels, and not nearly enough bakeries- the Japanese scene is kind of lacking, there's no really awesome Peking duck, I kind of think fine dining is a joke in this city, too, but we aren't New York.

I like living near DC. My neighborhood in Rockville is very nice, and my neighbors are all pretty well educated- it seems like everyone on my street has at least a masters degree, and PhDs are pretty common, too. None of these folks are really into anything resembling 'fashion'. I get the impression that their idea of fashion is dressing tidily.

I forget whether anyone else has mentioned it, but Pizzeria Paradiso is probably my favorite spot in G-town (and pretty much the only reason I ever went to G-town at all). Intolerable in the summer when it's overrun by summer associates and their ilk, but good pizza, awesome staff, and consistently amazing beer list (even if it's now overshadowed by Churchkey). best bakeries IMO are in nova. my favorite is heidelberg http://www.heidelbergbakery.com/ in arlington. great, great pastries. georgetown cupcake is ****. i am a pizza paradiso fan, but i had a terrible experience at their georgetown location a couple months ago. nothing but good times in dupont though. -

haha i used to work in that building (in a gym on the second floor). the chinese buffet there is good but $ my favorite chinese in nova is in the lee harrison center off lee highway, next to a harris teeter - called like chinese gourmet or some ****.

RNR Hotel has been outshining Black Cat the last few months as far as shows, but yeah the Twin Shadow show should be good. I'm still debating whether or not to trek it up to NY that weekend to catch one of LCD's farewell shows, assuming they aren't all sold out already.

Oriental Gourmet is a step above the other Amero-Sino Foodstuffs places around here - I like it. There's a great dim sum place and a great Sichuan plac (real sichuan pepper!) out in...oh, Chantilly or somewhere? However, their names escape me.

I don't know how you guys can keep passing up Pupatella and I am ashamed that only one person has mentioned el pollo rico. For people saying DC is a **** city...have you ever lived in a **** city? Just because we're not New York or Los Angeles doesn't mean we're below, oh, Buffalo or Memphis.

Also, for my internet ******* creepy guy debut, shoreman, were you at the Paint it Black show on Saturday night?

i thought el pollo ricco ( crack chicken) was mentioned.

I have always thought, based upon an admittedly small sampling, that the Dupont Circle location of Paradiso has superior pizza to the Georgetown location. Now that the Dupont Circle location has expanded, the beer selection at the two places is probably comparable.

Yep. Missed Give but Screaming Females were great and PiB were ok

bonchon is truly awesome chicken and is a somewhat bizarre ordering/calling/etc experience. no one at my table could eat even half their wings due to the heat.. had a funny beer ordering experience too. considering you order in milliliters i think. almost got a minikeg....and didn't realize it until she was carrying it to the table - then had to tell her i made a mistake..:-/ incredible though, really. wish my friends can/could handle the heat so I can go back.. As for dimsum...easily accessible. big. smells kinda like pee (3). F'iig awesome. Fortune in Seven Corners. Nuff said

the soy garlic ones are not spicy but still quite good. much prefer the spicy ones though..
