Looks too fruity... even to an SF'er

Feel free to add your own. For starters, I nominate ascots. I saw a guy wearing one with a linen suit at an outdoor wedding yesterday. It sounds like something an SF'er would approve of, but it just looked weird.

Yeah, can't do ascots. Can't do specs, either. Natural canvas and leather, maybe; high-contrast versions, no.

SF has helped convince me to work brighter colors into my summer wardrobe, but I began to feel a bit camp, so I'm toning it down.

I occasionally give ascots a go - my stumbling block has been bow ties - I've yet to see whether I can pull it off.

I was feeling adventurous one day and I tied up a kerchief around my neck and tried to wear it as an ascot. I spent the whole day with this burning feeling of shame and I wondered if that's what closeted homosexuals feel like.

For me, I would say Opera Pumps with bows. I saw a guy wearing them at a wedding and I just thought it looked ridiculous.

I'll agree with the ascots, but I do like the specs.

I bought a pair this summer, and I was able to wear them to a wedding this weekend. My girlfriend was not happy with my choice of shoes, but we made a bet that I would receive more compliments than jeers. The score was 6-0 in favor of the specs. It took me a while to pull off the specs, but I'm glad that I did.
