I had a shirt like that in High School.
I've never expressed hatred of the navy blazer, but I am in the camp of "I hate navy blazers". To me, stylistically-they are far too conservative and come from a historical tradition that I don't relate to. Whether or not this stereotype applies to its wearer, the message one sends wearing a navy blazer is "I am an uppity old stodger", at least in the circles I run in. Obviously the message is different in a different circle of folks, probably to the exact opposite. Ultimately, I just don't like the way they look....on me.
No hate here. I think it's one of the most versatile (and essential) pieces in a man's wardrobe.
When you get gold/brass buttons on your blazer, do you use plain ones or ones with an emblem? If the latter, what emblem do you use? Would it be cheesy to use the crest from your university?
Looks rather like a stroller jacket, at least in that combo. I would use lighter buttons at a minimum. I would also do patch pockets and no ticket. But you knew I was going to say that.
Color man, color. Shirt and tie are too formal. Shirt I could live with if it were some form of textured cloth but the tie with that reminds me of native Americans wearing bits of US cavalry gear to diplomatic talks.
What sort of fabric is that jacket? And are your trouser cuffs a little wider than usual?
Ticket pockets on blazers make Baby Jesus cry.

Dege put one on my DB blazer, at their own suggestion. But the British have a long history of Heathenism, with Christianity being a relatively recent import in the scheme of things.
Isn't that what babies do? Anyway, I agree, except for flap on patch for overcoats.
I have one with enameled college crest buttons. As you might expect, to wear it except ironically is quite dangerous. If I could get them enameled blue instead of crimson, it would be perfect.
I'll vote against school crest buttons, if only because my institution loves such things too dearly. It makes me
Well, that pretty much kills it for me.
Wise choice.
