It was pre-SF as SF and the internet didnt exist but it was definitely a time where I cared about clothes, otherwise I wouldnt be buying ******* glittery Paul Smith jeans

No, the op's first sentence said "not pre-caring-about-style-days," and I've bin caring about style since way before SF, like when i was 10.

Maybe it should say "fashion disasters in you post-StyleForum days when you were really trying to pull something off and it didn't work."

When I was 12 or 13, I owned these hideous color changing KG shoes. Looked like a Martian bowler.

No more linen pants and shirts. Last summer I couldn't figure out what to wear to an office party my wife was invited to, and my wife insisted that I wear a white linen shirt over cream linen trousers. She also insisted I wear the shirt out and with sandals. I felt like a freak for the next four hours. Next morning I threw the entire outfit in the trash.

This is why linen scares the **** out of me.

I have 2 pairs of H&M linen pants I refuse to wear out cuz it just doesnt look right. I think you have to be at least 40 years old for it.

H&M's obsession with linen is quite odd, especially with suiting. Never seemed appropriate to me, not even for a beach wedding.
