Now that's some cutting edge social commentary.

I heard there's this new trend called "metrosexuals" where men have become increasingly concerned with grooming and fashion. Anyone know if this is true ??

Being flamingly fashion-forward has always been a turnoff for chicks. They used to tell me in college they don't want their boyfriends to be prettier than they are. They do like guys to be stylish though.

I'm surprised Lamie Perry is able to get away with the song title (and the song, coincidentally). Her "I Kissed a Girl" belongs in the guilty pleasure thread though.

To most women stylish (for men) usually means either wearing something flashy (watch, flashy shoes, etc.) or wearing something they saw in a magazine or saw a big ad for (Pink shirts, Berluti shoes for some, Abercrombie logos for others).

Haven't we established that most of us here don't dress the way we do for women, but instead to impress our e-friends? El Guapo Wongo (Don Magic Wong?) being an exception.

I've gotten in trouble for being prettier than my gf.

I hate term metrosexual though. To me, that represents guys that spend hours trimming facial hair, wear too much cologne, and put on those crappy, overly pointy, eurotrash shoes.

And tiecollector, you made me watch an entire music video with the hope of some good lesbian action and all she did was sing about it.

I hate the term metrosexual too. It reminds me of one of those...festive...guys that host HGTV shows. It IS possible to devote enough attention to grooming/fashion to look a cut above the rest yet retain every ounce of masculinity while doing so. Unfortunately, most people apply that term to anyone who doesn't prefer the old t-shirt, destroyed jeans, just rolled out of bed look.
