Hey Styleforum:
I’m really excited to announce an event that worn&wound has been cooking up for the past few months. We’re calling it Wind-Up: New York City, and it’s the first showcase of its kind to feature affordable micro and independent brands from around the world, allowing them to get the spotlight and meet new customers and fans. Wind-Up is taking place October 23rd – 25th in an amazing storefront space in NYC’s SoHo district at 101 Wooster Street, between Prince and Spring. And best of all, it’s free to attend.
Wind-Up: New York City is going to feature 19 brands, from larger independents to cult favorites to a few that are just getting started. The brands represent a great palette of what watches can be, from subtle and vintage inspired to modern and bold, from under $500 to a few thousand, from quartz to in-house. We wanted to make sure that Wind-Up: New York City would not only interest seasoned enthusiasts, but also open the eyes of the public to how broad and varied the watch world really is.
The 19 exhibiting brands include:

Many of these brands sell exclusively on-line only and can be quite hard to get your hands on in the US, so this is an incredible opportunity to see them in person and try them on. It’s also an opportunity to meet the people behind the brands. Many of the founders/designers behind the watches will be there, running their booths. We can’t imagine a better way to experience a brand and their watches.
