id say generally id prefer to, but it comes down to the good at hand, for clothing i personally like to stay away from made in china, doesnt have to be US made. in canada its sometimes cheaper because i wouldnt have to pay duty, so thas a bonus. considering ordering some 1000 miles from revolve and with the orignals being 100 more than montgomery its still cheaper or about equal to get the original

No, not for the sole reason that it was made in the USA (or canada). Sometimes quality is in fact higher (all-clad, for instance), and i'll purchase for that reason.

I don't care what it costs, I'll buy Made in the U.S.A. and Canada wherever possible even if second hand. I will not help sell out my country by buying anything out-sourced. North America is bleeding to death and it's probably already too late to save it but I will do my part to slow the bleeding. That is all I am going to say on the matter.

I would think that you get an exemption.

Yes.

My laptop does have printed on it though 'Designed by Apple in California...', suppose that must count for something. ;)

Given the race to the bottom, I do what I can to buy USA. The exodus and/or slow decay of certain types of knowledge from this country bothers me.

I was talking to the owner of a company yesterday that makes jigsaw puzzles in the USA. They started manufacturing 15 years ago just about the time much of that toy and game business began heading to China. For a long time the higher cost of being in the USA was a disadvantage. Now with costs going up in China, and with made in USA offering quick turn-around and fulfillment times they are seeing a steady rise in profits and sales.

never looked, never cared.

At my current job the boss really wants to push the MADE IN USA label. What we do IS higher quality, no doubt. But for consumer day-to-day ****, i dont care.

Absolutely. As well as anything made in Canada, the UK, France, Belgium, Germany, etc.

Recent example: Broil King gas BBQ (made in Canada) instead of a Weber (made in China) -- price differential was approx. 35%

Let me guess, you work for a defence company, like Boeing or something?

there are some items that I don't mind paying a premium because they were produced in the usa and because they're well made or are pretty good- clothes, shoes, bourbon, steak, alaskan salmon, etc...
