This could be old news in these parts, but I just heard that Joseph Centofanti passed away on October 31st.

Wow, that is news to me. I just saw him in September as he was making adjustments to my Kiton tux and I ordered a tux shirt.

This is sad news. Thank you for posting here. RIP... He will be sorely missed. What is the future of the shop?

The tailor have a great eye for what looks good and they're particularly good in getting trouser to fit you perfectly, which is a tough thing for my flat ass and skinny legs. I completely think it's worth it to pay slightly more than the average costs for peace of mind and quality service.
I think I was there when you were picking up your tux a month or so ago. Scary to run into a SF member face-to-face.I take all of my alterations to him including such lowly stuff as a pair of BR cords that didn't fit me right. I even brought him a BB GF suit that the BB tailor just couldn't get right.
I just saw this. It would be nice to meet a fellow SF member. I've actually never met any in person. However, when I picked up my tux, I didn't remember anyone else being in the store. It's been a while though so I could be wrong.

Here is the link to the obit. Joe was a great guy. He treated me the same when I brought in ebay stuff for atlerations as when I finally stepped up and had him make me a dinner suit. Friendy, great to talk (and listen) to, and just wonderful at the sizing up, measuring, and cutting that makes for tailoring at its best. I wish I had found him decades sooner than I did. I only wish the film had been released in time (http://menoftheclothfilm.com/) .
