Would horse arse horse bits not scare the horses at the horse races?

When I first read this I thought wearing shell cordovan to a horse race would be akin to standing next to a cattle feedlot while eating a hamburger.

Bonus points if you get them to craft a subtle horseshoe shape into the heal… ideally as a tread embossing.

I emailed Alden this morning. We'll see what they have to say. It would likely be opting for the Cape Cod in cigar shell with silver-colored/nickle hardware. I have to assume it would clock out in the $600-$700 range.

Alden aren't taking MTO orders at the moment and don't make the Cape Cod in cordo anyway. What was Rancourt's price point?

Rancourt hasn't emailed me back (in reply to my reply to the above). I'll let y'all know what they say when I do hear. And although Alden isn't taking MTO orders from individuals, it does seem like such outfits as Leather Soul, still get MTO batches. Maybe we could convince the guys at Leather Soul (or a similar operation) to try and get some of these made.

Their regular production shell models (which are apparently all made to order, that is, they make them only when an order is placed) are listed at $510.

Saw that. MTO cordo for $500-ish is definitely doable. One of the best things about Rancourt is that you get Alden quality without the Alden name markup.
