mostly I don't share ed's concern for lemming-like group-think because I think so many of you would look better if you wore what we told you to wear. However, when people contemplate not wearing perfectly fine combos just because I, personally, don't, then I start to wonder if it's all gone too far.
I get a little confused with the term "repp." Are you referring to a tie whose fabric is ribbed, or are you including the diagonal stripes in the definition?I pretty much never wear print ties with odd jackets. For me, those always take knits, repps, or (seasonally) wool or linen.
since Grenadines are woven, are they considered in good taste when paired with jackets? Sorry, I get confuse with knits vs. woven....Thanksmostly the stripes. If I am going to wear a solid tie with a jacket, 90% of the time it will be knit and the other times it will be wool or linen.
Then there are those who say you shouldn't wear wool ties in spring and summer. Cotton and linen ties in patterns above are tough to come by, at least in the places I've looked.
I was considering one of those Hober challis ties (the red with big round medallion neats) but they ran out of the cloth
