A pair of beat to hell Adidas Superstars. Had them for about 8 years, have worn holes in the soles (hello, duct tape). Worn them in 30+ states, several countries, walked 25 miles one day in a snowstorm with them on, and have also worn them on several wilderness trips.

Needless to say, there is very little left of them, but they have been through perhaps the most interesting part of my life, and I will probably keep them for the rest of it. I guess you could say I've grown sentimentally attached.

My plain silver ring I made a few years back. Why? Because I made it from scratch.

for a second i thought you were talking about my manhood.

but seriously, as weird as it seems, it's a button up from EXPRESS, yes i said it, express, that fits me extremely well and it's my go-to workshirt.

Interesting because I look nothing like you but I would say the same thing about my (also different, i think) Alain Mikli eyeglasses. I wear them every day.

I thought about this for a while and I would have to say a camel coloured Donna Karen Signature angora and cashmere blazer I picked up in a NoLita thrift store during my first trip to NYC several years ago. It was an incredibly thick material, had horn buttons, and was unlined. I wore it everywhere for 5 years. A girlfriend said the first time she saw me she wanted to talk to me because I was, "wearing a soft looking jacket I wanted to brush up against." The right side of it pilled from my messenger bag while I was in school. I tore both shoulders internally one day when I was wearing a thick sweater underneath and horsing around with a friend, now it doesn't sit well. It's in a donation box in my basement. I like that it was my first taste of high-end clothing and opened my eyes to new possibilities.

My other garmet is a pair of Hugo Boss jeans (yes I know, bought pre-SF) that have traveled three contenients and been with me for 7 years. They were a dark indigo and are now are a light blue/white and basically falling apart. They're stretched at the knees, have been patched a couple of times in the seat and the right rear pocket has an outline of my wallet and is tearing. I like the fact that every wear mark on them I've done and they've got grit in them from some of the best experiences of my life.
