Those are the brands I've tried and liked:

For knitted polos: John Smedley, Johnstons of Elgin, William Lockie, Gran Sasso,
For jersey polos: Malo, Fedeli.

I've also tried jerseys from Drumohr and Zanone but was not convinced by the quality/price ratio (for Drumohr: an issue with the boutonniere after 4 wears; for Zanone: it looks like a cheaper polo than the price suggests; otherwise, those two brands are ok if you buy them on sale and you don't expect to get a "luxury-like product").

Brands whose polo shirts I've not bought yet but which I'd like to give a try: Brigatelli, Altea, Colombo, Cruciani, Della Ciana, Svevo.

Some Drumohr cotton knitted polos are superb, light weight with great quality, just their sizing is bit off. Filippo de laurentiis has great 'crepe cotton' polos in many bright colors, great quality too, better than Altea in my opinion, same sizing as their sweaters.

Ascot Chang makes those. If you already have a good pattern with them, the results are good. (Warning-- I did wind up asking for longer button-down collar points, as their default is a little too short.)

When it comes to knit polos, John Smedely in Sea Island cotton and merino are superb, they're buttery soft as they're 30 gauge. In addition the finishing is excellent. The only draw backs is the British color palette. If you're looking for lighter Italian colors you can look at Loro Piana, Gran Sasso, Filippo de Laurentiis, or Aurelien.

I personally avoid blended knitwear e.g., wool, silk, cashmere for a number of reasons. Cashmere adds unnecessary warmth. For light weight, thin, and more dressy knitwear I find this counter productive. It is also much more delicate. The delicateness and durability long-term applies to silk. Smedely's Sea Island cotton and wool is very durable if properly cared for.

As for non-knit, I think Luca Avitable's Sunday polo along with Ascot Chang are the best of the best.

I really enjoy the Sunspel Pique polo, they are my only, and therefore my go-to polo shirt. I kinda wear it mostly for work all year round. I am too lazy to iron my long sleeve shirts, so polo's work brilliant for me.

Good option. They should offer those with long sleeves.

The Sunspel pique polo is my go-to.

However I've been particularly enjoying some cashmere-silk polo's I commissioned MTM. Saman Amel used to sell these as ready to wear, but their ready made products seem to have been sunsetted.

I am a big fan of Lacoste Original Classic Fit (no more than 70€ on sales). The quality is good enough for me, light weight, they offer a relaxed fit (hate slim/tight fit), breathability is really good (not so much Paris line but better cotton quality), their colours palette is quite large and beautiful and they last. Dont mind the logo as far as is Lacoste, a classic. However I am curious about Sunspel´s polos but they are almost double the price here (130 € and never seen them on sales). Does Sunspel polos quality/fit/breathability differs much to Lacoste Original Classic ones?. Anyone with experience on those two polos can chime in?. TIA
