What's with the stretch on APCs??

I had read about their stretching, but was totally surprised how much my APCs have stretched. When I first got them, I sized down 2 sizes from my norm. I could barely button the top button and could barely walk in them. After almost 6 months, they are way too big for me. I can take them off without unbuttoning them. When I tighten them with a belt they scrunch up and are uncomfortable unless I keep them pretty loose.

Can these be tailored to fit better?

er.. sizing down 2 in APC terms is buying true to size.

Did you account for the vanity sizing?

I don't know... I'm guessing I screwed up on the size I chose (not sure what vanity sizing is), but I am still surprised on the stretching. They were pretty tight when I first put them on (had to suck in the gut). I'm not sure I could have sized down anymore and still button them.

It's been awhile since I have soaked them. Maybe I'll give that a shot but won't they just stretch out to the same size again?

vanity sizing means they run large to begin with (about 2 sizes big)

and to answer your questions, yes, of course they'll stretch again. That's when you soak again!

This is why you almost have to wear APCs slouchy. They stretch like a motherfucker, and they do it *quick*. If I wash (or soak) my APCs, they shrink back to normal, and are literally stretched right back out to "will fall off entirely without a belt" in about an hour. I say learn to love the slouch!

pretty much.. I sized down four (unintentionally) and one day after a wash and I can take them off without unbuttoning them.

Thanks sauce. That's a good way to look at it. And, a good reason to add another pair to the line-up.

I sized down two and mine fit pretty well. They obviously stretched a lot, but they really don't fall down too much without a belt and with a belt they're perfect. Standing up, they're as slim as they could possibly be without being tight. Absolutely perfect...I'd be shocked if I ever have another pair of jeans that fit me so well.
