Nice grados. I have a pair of SR60s that I enjoy for certain moods. I find them to be a bit bright for my tastes but run through my Marantz 1060 and a bit of EQ they smooth out quite nicely.

I've said it over and over. At my age, this is all i need. Bulletproof, solid power, well known for its phono pre-amp and good classic marantz sound for a reasonable price, even though the prices have risen since I purchased this 4 or 5 years ago. Also, the hipsters, they swoon.

Fantastic although attendance could have been a little better. We had two other festivals that day in Atlanta which I think hurt.

Yea the 80's are a little less bright, I think, but I still have to be in a very quiet environment in order to hear the lows well enough. Still, the headspace is very nice.

Can anyone recommend a (inexpensive) headphone amp I can use to drive the SR80i's? I want to use the L/O on my ipod coz the built in thing sucks =\\

I have the Schiit Asgard. It really is the ... well, you know what. It runs quite hot, so make sure you have plenty of open space above it. The company recommends the Asgard for Grados and Sennheisers. I use Senn. HD-650s on mine.

My Orions are still at 1.0, but they still sound great!

LOL. My headphone amp is hot Schiit. Rumors are that Mike Moffat (founder of Theta, and one of the two owners of Schiit) is working on a cheap USB DAC.

In other news, I just saw that Logitech released a Squeezebox controller for iOS. I haven't tried it out yet, but hopefully people won't have to buy the $10 iPeng now to control their boxes.

Can somebody shed some light on digital optical cables and speakerwire? I have seen both of these run for tons of money, but what do I really need? I have a Peachtree Audio Nova with matched speakers, however my optical cables and speakerwire are pretty cheap, am I losing a lot of fidelity? What should I be using? Thanks, guys.

Get your optical cable from bluejeanscable.com, and use 12 AWG stranded copper speaker wire with some kind of reasonable termination. Banana plugs work well. You are not losing anything if you use reasonably made wiring. Don't buy the expensive stuff --- they're mostly bogus.

Thanks A Y I will definitely get some stuff from the site. Right now I have pretty butchered speakerwire from Best Buy. It was the only stuff that wasn't like $200 for like 6 feet of it. The optical cables literally cost me about $1.50 each.
