@ Blake Stitched Blues:
I thoroughly enjoy riffing off of what you post.

"Deportee" made me think of this for some reason:

1987
(The lilting revelation, the sheer incessant floating graceful beauty of it all):

2018
(31 years of hope later, love still burning strong, still so beautifully lighting the way, maturity ever more reconciled):

@venessian Nice, very nice. Nothing beats the vibe of their second record for me. Recorded in an old Anglican church towards the end of '87 with just a single mike for the whole band.
Indeed.
One of the greatest debut albums ever, I think. Still as powerful as when it was first released.

This story is amazing, the humility so symbolic of CJ:
"Michael Timmins, leader of the Cowboy Junkies, smiles when asked how much the enormously promising Canadian band’s “The Trinity Session” album cost to record.
“Two hundred and fifty,” he replies.
Two hundred and fifty thousand? That’s a lot for a major-label debut, but it’s far from unprecedented, the reporter said. Why feel sheepish?
“No, no,” he corrects. “Two hundred and fifty dollars.“
