Manhattan is way better than Celebrity, imo. One of his best, signature works.

"And I found that when he´s not playing that type of character himself, the actor in the lead takes care of that". That's a very correct observation. Kenneth Branagh did that in Celebrity, Will Farell in Melinda and Melinda and Owen Wilson in Midnight in Paris. Owen Wilson even sounded like Woody Allen.

I strongly recommend Allen's recent film - Blue Jasmine. A great ******* movie.

Watched "Celebrity" and "Manhattan" last night. I enjoyed both, specially Manhattan since I prefer a Woody allen movie with him in the lead, even if his neurotic, fast-talking character is usually quite similar. And I found that when he´s not playing that type of character himself, the actor in the lead takes care of that.

Manhattan is very good - rigorously shot and scripted. Celebrity is essentially a good idea that is poorly executed.

Thanks. Is your avatar from Grande Bellezza? A fantastic movie. Visually stunning, with that light, subtle Italian humor.

A novel is the most perfect art form.
Arguable but interesting.

I watched this again somehow.
Made me feel old when I realized it is a 1984 movie.
Bill Murray had some good quotes as usual. I think he's been playing himself in all his films.
