Yes, this was a very good movie. Besides, I've always liked Sam Rockwell, and I'm definitely going to give this movie a second screening now that I'm reminded.


Recently:

I tried to get into Bad Lieutenant, but it's just a stupid movie. Just like King of New York, it's just skeez-chic and meaningless. For a movie that tries to portray the cliché moral bankruptcy and salvation shtick, it sure does have a romanticized junkie worship tone while doing so. It reminds me of why Johnny Thunders fans are so lame. The lead character is utterly unconvincing. Any cop who behaves like he does all day wouldn't go unnoticed by lunchtime.

The concept of this sounds awesome.

talked about a few pages ago. the cool concept and story line makes up for the less than stellar acting. worth watching.

contraband - way better than i expected. all around really good.

priest - standard killing vampires movie. decent killing, everyone talks in a pseudo undertone. decent fighting. just ok.

Bad Lieutenant with Keitel is an awesome art film, way deeper than just a crooked junkie cop's escapades. Never seen the remake, I hate Nicholas Cage....but love Herzog....what to do?
