I thought this was a decent movie and enjoyed it. It's nothing over the top special but it is a nice story from a family standpoint,
Looking forward to that as well. Taylor Sheridan is such a great writer. Love his back story of barely getting by as an actor, teaches himself to write and proceeds to write, produce, direct some amazing work.
My daughter’s been wanting to watch this. We enjoyed it. Actually LOL’d a few times. Thanks for the recommendation.View attachment 1608592
Super cute. Some pretty silly and childish jokes, but heart-felt and strikes a good balance between being super silly and having a warm message. Sony’s animation style is nothing if not opulent: explosive color, with a combination of incredible water color detailing in some spots combined with outlandish detailing elsewhere, the animators here clearly prioritize creative expression over “realism”. The use of mixed media and freeze frames is super cool - action and conversation is consistently overlaid with little animated flourishes that last a split second but add incredible depth to the film. I also thought it had a pretty nuanced portrayal of technology in modern life, which I think a lot of movies struggle to get right. Would watch with kids. Its nowhere near as great as Spiderverse, but it’s still really good.
