Got a rookie question. I'd like to get a blazer to wear in the colder months. Perhaps something like this one

Can anyone recommend where to get this blazer or what brand to look at? What is the fabric?

Looks a lot like brown corduroy (fabric). Walkninto any major menswear store and ask for blazer in brown corduroy. They should have one this time of year (classic winter thing).
One SF affiliate carries it in very nice cut and fabric quality:

I think it might be moleskin, and I had the same S&M suggestion.

Somewhat off the topic. Does any one know where to find WOOL corduroy?
About 30 years ago I saw wool corduroy slacks at a shop in Toronto. I tried
them but the cut was wrong for me- rise too long. Haven't seen any since.
