These are RL rebadged Edward Greens.

Very very nice.

They run big. Remember that you'll be wearing very thin silk socks. I'd probably size down at least 1/2 size.

What exactly are you looking for anyway?

Footwear to wear with tuxedo?

I don't know who makes the velvet slipper, possible EG, although the retail price would suggest otherwise.

They are both fine, and Edward Green. And they only work for tux. nothing else.

Orsett for me fit snug, and they have a more narrow toe than the regular EG I own, I actually wish I got in 12D (usually 11.5 in most brands)

Here's another thing, speaking from personal experience,

while it's nice theoretically to have a pair of opera pump, to envision yourself attired in such classic and formal pair of shoes with your tux, you should be practical and ask yourself if you truly dare to wear the pumps.

I bought my RLPL pumps anticipating to wear it everytime with my tuxedo. I've chickened out everytime and instead go with the patent leather lace up. Just my two cents.

I'm sorry - I just GOT to say it. I don't care if those Orsett's are made by Edward Green, John Lobb, or by hand by the Pope at the Vatican - they are BEYOND ugly - and well past ridiculous.

Would anyone who calls himself a man be caught DEAD in those? PUHLEEEEEZ!

I find the Orsett to be a very comfortable shoe to wear for extended periods. The vamp on the Orsett is a little longer than it is on some other pumps... my Paul Stuart/Grensons actually hurt sometimes, becasuse the really low cut opening is so close to the front of the shoe that it digs into the foot at the base of the toes when walking or dancing. The Orsett is higher up on the foot, and to me far more comfortable. Plus it's a just a great EG shoe for a very nice price.

As to being caught dead in them, it was my girlfriend's suggestion that got me to start wearing them in the first place. She made a point of taking me to Paul Stuart to look for them several years ago in NYC.

I wear them maybe 6-8 times a year, way down south in North Carolina, and I have received nothing but compliments for them. Women in particular seem to think it's cool that a guy would go to the trouble to find and wear them and be confident in them- "sexy shoes" is the most common thing I get about them from women- as opposed to the scuffed up black Gucci horsebit loafers their boyfriend is wearing with his notch lapel two-button tuxedo and shiny satin long tie.

Just a quick note to say that GrapevineHill has a number of the Orsetts up for auction at present, with some of the auctions finishing shortly - I noticed at least one that was at $99.
