Yes, that is a nice cover. It's funny how one's musical knowledge gets shaped - hearing JJW doing L.A. Freeway, and then later Desperadoes is what turned me on to Guy's music. Around the same time I bought a bargain bin copy of TVZ's Flyin' Shoes b/c I liked the cover and fell in love with his music. A few years later Guitar Town came out and I became a Steve Earle fan. Then you finally read a story or hear an interview and suddenly the lightbulb turns on....Steve Earle did a record of Guy Clark covers a few years back. He does a fantastic cover of this song, and really reinterpreted it in a way that only Steve Earle can.
