http://madetomeasureny.com/2011/06/1...acked-in-1983/ Is it me or......
  • Those 2 tone collars are so 80s.
  • Many of the shoes are gaudy.
  • The ties are hideous.
  • Silk screened "beach bum" casual shirts?
  • Massively wide lapels.
  • Cheap blue wire hanger.
  • Tassled loafers? Green socks? Pink Cardigans?
Sorry, but the only timeless parts of this collection are the running shoes and the horsehair brush. Disclaimer: I am a fan of the MTM blog, and think Dennis is a breath of fresh air in suiting men with realistic items on a real budget.

****, the 80's were great and Flusser's still living it. Just look at those Mickey Mouse slippers, those are power slippers.

I dunno dude, it looks ok to me, except the Schlitz shirt and stuff. I'd wear most of those shoes right now. Specially the ostrich wholecuts.

Also, remember it was 198 ******* 3. I'm surprised he had room for clothes after all the coke.

I would wear the green velvet Mickey Mouse slippers. And they have shoe trees

Why has he packed three pairs of slippers?

I think the majority (70% or so) is fine, to be honest. The idea of having a constant style is to mix both very conservative items with those currently in fashion, the overall essence being that you don't look anachronistic.

I'm know for myself that when travelling space inside and the weight of my bag is an issue, so I wouldn't take wooden hangers with me which probably explains the naff ones in the photo.

Flusser is the poster child for "Do As I Say, Not As I Do." I'm not sure I've ever seen a photo of him that isn't a train wreck of garish combinations and/or piss-poor fit. I prefer to imagine him as a man who dresses like the mannequins in "Clothes and the Man."

I think it was acceptable at the time.

Plus, I was born in the 80's, so anything form that era has instant kitsch value since I didn't grow up in that time.
