Today I made a trip to the city with my girlfriend and her friend. While they went to Britex, huge fabric store, I walked across the street to the levi's store. It was pretty cool. I was able to check out the Eco line of jeans. I am not much of a connoisseur but they seemed reasobly nice if not overpriced. The styles were comparable to those of the capital-e line, not really as classicly inspired as some of the LVC stuff.

Also, there have been people asking about 527's in raw. While they don't have them in raw, they do have them in a one-wash for $88 and they have one that is very lightly distressed in a cool denim with a nice sheen and lots of structure (i.e. lots of vertical falling and horizontal... whatever its called, I suppose it might be called slubby?).

The LVC stuff was nice to see. I tried on some 47's they seemed nice, but they were small! I tried on a 32-34. I wear a 32-36 in STF, and I couldn't even button the 47's. I don't even want to think about shrinkage. I think I need to lose a few pounds before I buy those, jeez. They also had the 1906 reissues. They were cool, but reallllly distressed and cost $500. Now that I think of it, I should have tried on the 646's while I could. Oh well.

Anyway, that's all I could think of to report about it. I didn't buy anything.

.

Were you trying on pre-washed 47s or raw? The prewashed use the raw tag sizing so you have to think -2" from shrinkage. But even the raw ones run a bit small.
