And I have no idea what to wear.

I have 3 suits; grey, navy pin, and black.

White and pastel shirts galore and a battery of ties.

I don't do many brown/earth colors because of my pale complexion and black hair. Even my shoes are black (gasp!).

Oh yes I have a white pocket square that I'd probably like to wear with the grey suit (the other two have that pocket stitched).

Thanks a bunch from a somewhat indecisive individual.

- I am thinking right now gray suit, pastel blue shirt, and darker solid pastel blue tie, but am not sure.

Definitely don't wear the pinstripe suit. IMO pinstripes are for business. I also wouldn't wear the black suit with a white shirt because it will either make you look like you are a waiter or it will make you look like you are going to a funeral. So, I think the gray suit is your best bet.

You simply release the stitches with scissors or knife, very carefully.

I wear the pinstripe enough at work, I was leaning towards the grey or black anyway.

I don't do careful, I do klutz. And I don't think the square would look as good in the black or pinstriped suit anyway. The grey is definitely the most versatile imo

Thanks for the help

Thanks. It's not an extravagant wedding or anything, but still.

Thanks, I know the groom and know he is going to get hammered and act a fool at the reception. Can't wait!

Black suit plus white pocket square (you have to unstitch that breast pocket, but a gentleman's suit's breast pocket should always have a pocket square anyway). White shirt. Silver (or grey) or silver(or grey)/black or silver(or grey)/black/white tie. Black shoes. Black socks. The reason is that this combination gives you the most formal look for your wedding, and gives the most suitable contrast, assuming the bride wears a white bridal gown. The photos will come out best. Plus matches your complexion most.

Anyway, whatever your choice, congratulations and I wish both of you a very happy marriage.

Well thanks for the advice guys. I was definitely the best dressed, and the most drunken there. I'm going to go hit the bed
