Hello people, I have been thinking about getting a new pair of jeans which I will be wearing everyday to create my own faded , vintage look. I'm considering about these jeans:

http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=72037&vid=1&pid=153077002

http://us.levi.com/product/index.jsp?productId=10952315&kwCatId=&kw=raw&origkw=raw&sr=1

questions:
Do I need to pre-wash them?
should I buy the exact size or a size bigger(shrink issue?)?
how long I should wait before I wash them?
will these jeans have the faded washed worn look that naturally occured after wearing them for a while?

what kind of raw jeans do I get if I want a light color vintage wash look?

thank you!

I would avoid Levis and Gap for this kind of thing. They fade but pretty mildly.

You can pick up NF Weird Guys for the same price on Gilt at the moment.

I would also recommend Naked & Famous: Weird Guy, Deep Indigo Selvage to be specific. Otherwise, APC New Cure, Indigo.

thanks..what about the sizing? is it sanforized? do I need pre-soak? thanks!

I think the best bet would be to try them on. A lot of guys size down 1 or 2 because these jeans tend to stretch. However, I didn't (because I couldn't). I'm usually a 28, and I was exactly a 28 in both APCs and N&Fs. I couldn't even button up in a size 27. I would suggest getting the smallest waist size you can fit. Also, when you try them on, make sure they are not too tight around the thigh area. Unlike the waist, the thigh area doesn`t stretch that much!
