I'm not sure about that claim, but you could probably find research giving you a number anywhere from 5%-95%. You have to realize that vitamins contain much more than the daily recommended value, so if you only absorb a little, it may actually be the right amount. Also, vitamin makers do not have to support their claims by providing research data to the FDA. Makers can simply slap a tag on a bottle saying that it is good for you. Just keep this in mind.
