it's definately no placebo...it actually works if you don't get enough b12 in your diet, which chances are, you don't. also it is injected into a muscle.

Yes, but what are the benefits? Does it give you more energy, and for how long?

Do you use it for athletic purposes, or because you just generally feel somewhat lacking in energy during your normal daily routine?

i like the hardcore injection factor

it'd be pretty funny to invite my friends over and pretend to mainline heroin

"what's that? what am i doing? oh just SHOOTING UP SMACK"

or better yet, in the middle of dinner with my parents sometime

plus i could always use some more energy

I use it because I am generally dragging ass, but the boost in energy it gives me compels me to be athletic so I guess the answer is "both".

    heroin addicts of course!

actually i heard something about some clinics handing out free needles, unless those are exclusively for aforementioned heroin addicts

Remember to wear a condom when sharing needles with a heroin addict--they have a high rate of AIDS transmission, you know...

I have mine done by one of the nurses in my MD's office. Sure beats trying to score needles on the grey market.

I'm really surprised how many people are doing this. First, vitamin B12 is required by your body for certain metabolic processes. Most of it is absorbed via your digestive tract. I don't know if injections contain more than supplements, but there's no reason to take more than a multi-vitamin. The only reason a doctor should administer an injection is if a patient has had a portion of their intestine removed or has some other problem. Otherwise, this is a fad. I'm in med school, and the people who actually do research on this recommend taking nothing more than a multi-vitamin and perhaps fish oil supplements. Injections are expensive and pretty ridiculous.

    Is this:

The pills are worthless, less than 5% gets absorbed from them.

    True?
