If you're going to be in Palo Alto tomorrow I can bring the Church's trees to the office if you want 'em. They're pretty awesome.

I don’t know that they’re particularly vintage, but my last couple of acquisitions are Made in England.

A pair of Church’s wingtips. Based on the lack of “Milan” on the footbed, I’m guessing these predate Prada’s acquisition of Church’s in 1999. The size and model info is as illegible as usual, but who doesn’t love a 6-eyelet oxford?

And a pair of “Made in England” suede split toes from E.T.Wright’s Masters Collection. I think these are made by Sanders & Sanders. No idea when these were made. Not that long ago, I suspect. I’ve been looking for more suede shoes to wear with jeans and the two pair of LWB wildcards don’t seem to be dropping in price.

Nice pick ups.

I had never realised that “Milan” on heel sock denoted models since Prada takeover. Makes sense

Will have to check mine now.

Hello fellas, it’s been a while. Hope everyone had more cool and grail finds last year than watch strap materials

In the past year I’ve technically lived four places and have finally settled in Chicago, at least for a year. Not the biggest of Florsheim “enthusiasts” but was thinking I could use a few pairs of Made in Chicago shoes so when these sample/custom ordered, 99% sure not kangaroo, Stacy Adams looking, seven eyed beast popped up I made an offer thinking I wouldn’t win

While the density of the stitching changes on the outsole it still very much looks like one continuous, unbroken chain of stitching. Both rows are of the same thread, they were done at the same time, just not by a very steady hand guiding it on the machine. The inner row of stitching doesn’t seem that further recessed, even if that from a current pair of AE, to me. We shall all see soon enough

My only real red flag is what's up with the welt stitching, that also changes density but can’t tell if it’s a continuous stitch. Either way when I saw the butt seam covers and no style number I pulled the trigger thinking they were worth it just for the uppers. I can’t buy six slightly identical pairs of these for the price of a new welt and sole, my rational

Peak curiosity. Please post better photos when they land. Genuinely wondering about the sole construction.

It has larger pores like that of the bison leather. But it has much bigger pebbles shape, which I have not seen in the American bison. Manufacturer do not stretch bison leather so that the leather shows the distinct pebble pattern. It could be an Asian buffalo. The larger pores definitely tells that it is a big animals that has lot of fur on it.

Thank you for your comment!

I love that this thread's members are still buying shoes when most of us are now working from home. Not a criticism as I picked up yet another pair of boots in my size, courtesy of @Jiqea who is always on the look out.

Same pair as these ones. Never tried kiltie boots. No time like the present!

Canadian made Boulet boots in bison.

I'd like to know who snagged this unicorn:

Did you see his 2nd pair (in more worn condition with half sole repair)? Maybe you can offer for cheap?

I’d love a pair of Church’s trees, but I’m nowhere near Palo Alto.

Heads up, shoe friends,

SEA TURTLES spoted!

I wanted to buy some new shoes over the weekend, had a lot of time for search. I've seen three nice pair of shoes. There are links for two of them - both sea turtles =)

I've seen sea turtle shoes in better shape and cheaper, but still a chance to obtain a pair of unique shoes...
Hope you like them=)

And there is the third pair - there is no "ELEPHANT" typed in the listing, so you might not find it.
I was hoping to get them for me, but I need +5 mm, and because I already have black elephants, sharing, that pain after all the day does not worth it.

Per seller, measures are 10.8 / 27.43 inside. outside per photos attached. Right's shoe vamp needs some work, but overall cool condition. Private offer to me was 399 USD.

They have some miles on them... think they would clean up okay? FWIW I’m only about 30 minutes from Jim McFarland’s shop... ?
