For last year’s challenge, we had a limit of $15. I found a pair on eBay that interested me. They were listed for $18 or best offer. I offered $14, and was rejected. I tried explaining my limit and tried negotiating to $15 with no luck. He would not come down below $15.95.

That pair didn’t sell. It got relisted over and over. Recently it was listed for $15.95 or best offer. This was below our new limit of $17.50!

Of course I offered $14 again.
(And it was accepted.)

Did the seller remember that he had turned down the same offer a year ago? If not, did you remind him?

With due deference for both wing-tip Wednesday and Hump Day, I present these H.H. Brown camel leather long-wing brogues, manufactured at the factory in Sherbrooke, Quebec. The most often seen products from this factory are boots and dress shoes made for the Canadian military, however odd ducks like these show up from time to time. These shoes have safety toes, and are suitable for the office, shop floor, or meeting your mistress for lunch.

The heavy tanks that are John McHale cap toes. Triple leather soles and the billions of nails make these indestructible.

Wow. Those are awesome. They’d look great with some dark jeans too.

Look what popped up for sale on craigslist in my area. $400. A Singer cobbler sewing machine. I am tempted. That is just frigin' cool.

In checking out some poor quality video, I discovered that the machine has a walking foot motion to move heavy leather and that the foot actually rotates. So rather than having a reverse, the operator can rotate the sewing foot to a different direct to change the direction it is sewing. This includes forward, backwards and right to left. This makes sense as one cannot rotate the shoe once is placed over the long bar that serves as the "table".

I just opened a package from @mariusscott, who sent me these wonderful NOS Stetson eggplant long-wings. Clever of him to arrange for them to arrive on Wing-tip Wednesday!

I noticed them last week on the @davidVC list, and could not resist. I presume they are from the 60's, but would love to be educated. What wonderful shoes! I am just giving them a drink of Bicks 4, and will start wearing them out tomorrow.

Happy wingtip Wednesday. I went with my walnut (sort of) LWB Keith Highlanders with Chewbacca socks. These are among my favorite in my collection. I’ve been saying that about all my shoes lately. So what if I have 20 pairs in my “top-5” favorite... enjoy the day.

Is there anything worse than watching an auction all week, only to have a client call in the final minute messing up your focus?

Did anyone on here just win a pair of J&M loafers?
