I purchased size 10.5 in 2020, 2030, and 2040.

First, these aren’t even marked with the last.

Second, they are all extremely difficult to insert largely due to the instep being too high on the trees. They will also be impossible to pull out without knobs installed to the tops. I love my EG last shoe trees and was hoping these would be similarly great. Instead, this is another story if viberg doing viberg sh*t. I doubt anyone even tried them out before shipping. I’ll keep them to sand them down, but would absolutely not recommend.

In addition to instep problems, for the 2030, the old 2030 last clearly have more toe taper and the discrepancy creates significant pressure on the pinky toe side when trying to insert the last. For instep and toe reasons, I am absolutely not comfortable trying to insert these into my old shell. It really believe they would rip the instep and screw up the toe shape.

I was really hoping these would work to provide back pressure when boning my vamps.

If anyone has size 10s, lmk. I’d be willing to give them a try and .5 down

After reading @bjhofkin’s post, I went back and tried the 2040 trees on all 6 of my pairs. They only seemed to work on 1/6. I had the same thought as @horweendreams that it’s a problem with the insteps. Will try sanding.

Viberg hasn't made much that I've been interested in over the past couple of years, but the Shinki 2040 in horsehide and the 2055 Tempesti are great.

Do you mean this one:

And this:

Vaguely interested in the first, but I don’t have any personal experience with these lasts. Does anyone know how the 2040 and 2055 fit compared to the 2030 of 110? Thanks!

Question - I purchased these Hikers new (unfortunately from a now defunct stockist) and they came with some sort of marking or abrasion on the left tongue (see third photo), presumably from the laces. Is there an easy way to clean these up, eg with saphir renomat? Or does this look to be permanent / not worth messing with and should just be embraced? Upper is CXL roughout. I realize they’re meant to be beat up and it’s just cosmetic but I’m planning to post them on the BST so want to describe them accurately. Any thoughts are welcome.

2055, 2030, 2040

2055 has an EE width toe box and a slightly narrower heel, although I don’t really notice the heel difference. Instep feels about the same if not a smidge lower, though that could also be from the ammo boot pattern vs service boot.

2040 has a noticeably lower instep compared to the 2030. Would not recommend anyone do a full size down for it. It's a smidge narrower in the waist and heel vs. the 2030 as well. Toe box has the munson shape vs almond shaped, although it isn't as wide as the 2055.

110 is roomy all over by comparison except for length.

Just got the 2055 tempesti delivered tonight, last feels fantastic since I have wide feet and a narrow heel.

One gripe is the left boot had a tad of loose grain and Viberg gave me two sets of flat waxed laces instead of one leather lol
Tempesti loose grain sounds like a bad situation... where is it on the boot?
