Honestly are we paying too much for Viberg?

The aftermarket sales hold their price like a good Honda Accord
so that's favorable but the boots are making a substantial profit
when purchased directly.

I'm just concerned.
You're concerned that the company is making a profit of perhaps too profitable?

Buy what you like and what you can afford. Let the businesses worry about their profit margins.

Rally tho, I feel taken advantage of and that is just hyper commercialism which is destroying the fibers of our fragile society.

We like the boots.

I genuinely think there is cause for concern on a societal level from rampant consumerism eroding or replacing basic fulfillment. So I share your concern on a existential level. Your question seems more philosophical, along the lines of whether or not we are a product of our environment.

But it's not viberg taking advantage of anyone. They are just a small business in a niche market trying to survive like everyone else. I don't buy nearly as much as I used to and I've really trimmed what I do have. But those are personal decisions. In the end most of these are just brown boots.

We need to disagree with your above quote, they are laughing all the way to the bank on every sale with the price to cost / ratio their markup currently allows.

I like the boots.

I'm sorry but my insurance doesn't cover therapy so I need to buy things to deal with my existential dread that I'm coming up on a year of work from home and I forgot what it's like to shake people's hands or how do we even smile, all I see is masked faces -- and why did Brett kill the 145 and why is he going to take away the shelby sharp and god dammit put the back stay back on the halkett and give it to me in horsebooty

I really enjoy that our money supports advertising that typically teases nothing at all about the boots. Pictures of fields or beaches with commando sole foot prints and then not releasing any boots with lugs is a costly endeavor.

So essentially your underlying meaning is:

Brett = ModernDay Robber Baron

aww jeez I googled that thinking that was some dude's actual name. Nah I honestly respect that Brett wants to take more control of the business and you can see that them cutting down on having too many unique models and too wide a production berth has improved QC and consistency. I also hope he respects that I'm still gonna complain about his decisions that impact my selfishness and FOMO and that I really really dislike his bernhard boot. Viberg's are gonna be expensive, but I buy lots of other brands as well too because of that. I just own more Vibergs than I do of any other particular brand (5 as soon as my 310 Cuoios arrive tomorrow!)

How much should they be priced? Less than Wescos and Aldens?
Wait I 100% think that shell preorders are too expensive, I don't know of any other maker that has shell at nearing twice the price of their non-shell. Well except Meermin, but besides Meermin and Viberg I can't think of other brand, oh crap wait Carmina is charging almost twice the price too now that their shell is almost 1k, okay so besides......

If Viberg keeps up the better QC and finishing and maybe makes cap toes a wee bit bigger I'm happy to pay the current prices if it's a makeup I really like.

OP was complaining about the price of Vibergs in general, not specifically cordovan.I was asking how much should an off the shelf boot should cost if he thinks their too much.

Well Aldens are trash and only worn by Plebs, so lets immediately omit them from the algorithm.

Yes Wesco and White's are slightly overpriced and absolutely the same quality as Viberg, but they're not at the 'lets bend you over' and drive you to the bank @ $700 level yet.

I literally got your post about the non-shell makeups wrapped into one continous post with OP's, my bad man.
