Quick impressions:
  • The box these come in are much better than the old Viberg ones, these feel more structured and less likely to fall apart
  • These were manufactured in May per the sticker (!)
  • Leather feels pretty thick and seems to have a very nice sheen
  • These are the only boots I've worn where the tongue has not slid to the side after walking
  • I can't really tell the color/depth of these since its dark here and I only have indoor lighting

Is the tongue gussetted?

Damn the moss looks so much more tame than the product pics

I feel like on average the variation and depth on moss and cuoio probably isn't all that far apart based on the pairs we've seen so far, which makes sense given that it's the same tannery and same underlying leather. Maybe the particular moss pair Kevin used for his product shots was unusually wild and, if anything, the cuoio looked crazier than the moss pairs on the Viberg Japan site. Of course, we have a pretty small sample size so far.

First wear of the cuoios. Love the depth of this leather and it really feels nice and thick (phrasing)

Gorgeous! Getting them out in natural light has that hide looking more like it did in the first sets of photos posted months ago. Some of those most recent shots for this drop made this leather look much flatter.

As it patinas, please do post occasional updates.

I was hoping the moss would come out with a bit more color variability and character than what they did. The color is pretty consistent throughout, a very medium brown. They are nice, don’t get me wrong, but not what I was expecting.

some quick shots. There are a few nicks and scratches, nothing too over the top. There is an area where the lining isn’t adhered to the upper very well.

I guess I was hoping for something similar to the beaver fur kudu

Seems like a pretty big difference between the moss product shots and what you guys have been posting. For me the former looks 'dark' brown, the latter medium/light.

Yes very different, also kind of strange the toe is so bulbous. Not the typical almond
