Facetasm might be the closest thing to the CCP so far (front wise at least), not ideal but maybe an affordable alternative. Probably doesn't look great zipped up.

Nice post sip - I was definitely most intrigued by that first Facetasm one and the variations on it.

Other highlights for me the past few pages were of course the BBS ones, and the front of the SasquatchFABRIX one, the Raf ones (I like that they're long but would probably be too long on me), and the Soloist one when worn with the straps crossed.

I think that gives you an idea of what I'm sort of looking for, so maybe I'll try to track down a previous BBS or Facetasm one, or wait for the new BBS.

Those are the ones I like the best too. Basically straps with panel pockets and without the all unnecessary fabric and bulkiness of full-fledged vests. Also much better for layering (under or over).

I passed on the Raf one a couple months ago, regrets... From a practical standpoint the low pocket placement might turn out to be pretty annoying, looks nice under the ma-1 though.

Follow up on Facetasm


This season's version is lamb (kinda $$$) w/ fake fur lining

The thing doesn't appear to have any pockets besides that tiny one which sucks and kinda defeats the purpose of the vest, similarly the earlier versions only have two little chest pockets. Still works on a aesthetic level as layering piece but feels like a bit of a missed opportunity.
