I'm about the order a pair of Vass on the F last but I'm having a small sizing issue. From what I've read here, the F last size can be derived from the standard US -> EU conversion. For example a US size 8 US would be around a size 41 EU. Some members even recommending sizing down half a size as the F last runs a little large.
However, my issue is that Gabor recommended size 39 EU after I told him I'm a size 6 US. This might be a size too large as the standard conversion of 6 US would be 38 EU. Considering how some people even size down half a size to accommodate the larger toe box, I'm afraid 39 EU would be just too large.
Has anybody had any experience will the small size spectrum of Vass shoes and can chime in with some recommendations? Should I go ahead with Gabor's recommendation? Unfortunately, I'm currently living in Hong Kong for the time being and could not go try on some samples at Gabor's.
I'm considering a pair of Old English II in Oxblood with the perforations besides the laces removed to achieve a cleaner look. I'm not sure whether to get double sole or not.
