Just wondering if anyone has any details on the trench coats from Uniqlo. I have a friend visiting from New York who I want to pick one up for me, but the website is pretty lacking. Thoughts?

They have two models, one with buttons and one with a zipper. The one with the zipper feels very plastic-like.

I was honestly pretty disappointed. I was all ready to pull the trigger but once i tried it on, fit and construction was very underwhelming.

Yeah it's not very slimming.

What did you expect for $60? Is anything from Uniqlo particularly slimming? It's an affordable trench for the masses. You get what you pay for in most regards - in Uniqlo's case you get a little bit more, but it's still just a cheap trench, no matter how you slice it.
