In August i posted that Turnbull & Asser had increased their prices of regular ties from £135 to £185 , an increase of sum 37% . Now in October they have increased them again . Half of the regular ties are now £205 and the other half are still at £185 . The James Bond ties are £225 and the seven fold ties are £335 .

As somebody previously posted Turnbull's are losing money ,so it would appear that their idea is to raise the prices in hope that the extra margin stops them losing money . When companies try this strategy without raising their profile they invariable fail . Instead of trying to sell more by getting new customers their idea seems to be to charge it's existing customers a far higher price for the same products . I can't see this working as some of these existing customers will stop shopping their and go to one of their rivals .

Do You Consider Sustainability When Purchasing Clothes?

  • Always - Sustainability is a top priority in all my clothing purchases.

  • Often - I frequently consider sustainability, but it isn't the main factor in my decisions.

  • Rarely - I seldom consider sustainability when purchasing clothes.

  • Never - Sustainability is not a factor I consider in my clothing choices.
