I remember going through the racks at Marshalls and seeing this t-shirt with a gold-painted plastic chain threaded through two holes, forming a faux-gold chain around the neck of an airbrushed graphic of Tupac Shakur. "What a *************!" I thought, "Who would even wear something like this?" Fast forward a few months and I saw a local house DJ wearing the exact same shirt.

Around here, the DJs are often the worst-dressed of a generally badly dressed club scene. The "stylish" ones wear Crooks & Castles and Element. The badly dressed ones wear oversized white t-shirts that it looks like they slept in overnight.

Not me. I'm getting the impression that most DJs people encounter are goofs. I hate coming off as a music nerd, but I'm talking about progressive house...its not like house or trance. Here's an example:

He said cholo, so probably a Mexican DJ.

If you google Mexican DJ trackjacket you'll find a couple people that fit the bill of what he's describing.

The difference is I guess you want to look like a European douchebag, while he's describing a Mexican one.

Well I can't speak for what goes on in Ibiza, I'm just speaking from my experiences in podunk 'Murika.

Prog house/trance isn't really my cup of tea, but I can appreciate its sense of musical drama often absent in dance music. The DJ I referred to before plays more hard house going into breaks, which I can usually appreciate more on its own terms.

Douchebag knows no nationality. Douchebags are an international brotherhood.
