LOL - I must say that I enjoy reading this kind of statements in a forum the members of which always focus soooo much un functionality when choosing their clothing.

I have about half of my dress shirts monogrammed on visible places (chest where the pocket would have been if it had a pocket, right cuff, etc.) because I know it will irritate some...

And about half of them I have monogrammed below the waist, so that it remains hidden when I wear the shirt. I make sure to wear these shirts when I do not want to risk irritating anybody (such as when I appear in court, some client meetings, most job interviews -depends a bit on the interviewer-, etc.). I normally wear these shirts when travelling abroad on business.

My normal shirt maker does not charge extra for the monograms, as it is included in the basic price when you go for the "handmade" shirt option (which I always do; of course, this is likewise stupid by me because the hand-made features do not really provide any further function, but the seams that attache the sleeves to the body of the shirt are more "hidden" and I prefer that look).

Another shirtmaker of mine charges a couple of EUR per letter and sometimes I pay them, sometimes not.

Were I to monogram shirts, I'd do something disgustingly elaborate. The sort of thing that most places aren't even able to do anymore due to the skill involved. You'd probably need a small Chinese girl to do it.

Would your pleasure be intensified should you discover her feet have also been bound?

- I tried this.. The characters where too BIG & as you may know with Chinese characters it has tobe done properly.. Hence my tailor & I opted for "XX".. This was here in Australia, may try again when I move to Asia next month.

I am considering a monogram of a full size bald eagle, wings spread, over the back of my shirt.

I think it will look way rad.

I never like monogram on shirts, period.
Also, what's the point of having hidden monogram? Do you really think that having monogram on your shirt would help if your dry cleaner happens to lose your shirt?

Yeah, I don't think you could fit 3 characters there, I believe they just put in your last name (or some single character word you want placed). Jantzen does that service.
