Ties... Prints or wovens and why

I like prints for spring/summer, and wovens for fall/winter. I also like grenadines, which I classify as wovens.

I have seen some ties with neat pattern that are part print and part woven. Awesome. Heavy print silk ties are the ultimate luxury IMHO, though hard to find.

I have far more prints (mostly Hermes) than wovens, but really like wovens (especially Charvet) for dressier occasions. The prints are my every day business ties.

Voted the same way for the exact same reason (written better than I would have).

Lean towards woven but will buy a print tie if I really like it.

Yup. I like prints when I'm putting on a collar bar.

I dont like small knots and good prints are not easy to find. You often get nicer woven ties, and of course, the knot, is meatier . . . .

I like both but I went with prints. A nice 40 ounce twill 7 fold (or double 4 as it may be) has a nice drape to it and holds colors well.

There are so many nice wovens that I would never rule that out either.
