What does everybody prefer as far as tie material?

Personally I prefer prints as I think that nice ones can be more elegant than nice wovens.

Both, but over time the balance has been tipping toward more wovens and fewer prints.

Quite a tough question...

I love prints with a bit of a sheen, brightnes it up.

I really love deep woven ties into the weave of the fabric, it really makes it admireable.

IMO, the best printed ties are Bulgari and Marinella.

I voted both. But like LD I find myself leaning toward wovens because they feel more substantial and I like the knot and drap better with wovens.

Wovens, for the same reasons von Rothbart quoted. I find prints a little too 'light' for my tastes.

Both. It depends on what I'm going for and what I'm pairing it with. On the whole, I probably wear wovens more often.

I don't own any prints and have not bought one in at least 10 years. I find the surface interest and texture on wovens so much more attractive, in addition to the nicer knots they tie.

I wear woven most of the time, and prints every once in a while to mix things up.

I agree with EL. Also, I have no interest in the cute picture ties, so my need for prints is automatically diminished.

I have a few prints, but the patterns I like are nearly always nicer as a woven. I'm as interested in texture as design.
