^It's pretty clear that she was joking about stabbing people, and making an analogy.

It's also pretty clear that although she may be academically intelligent, she's incredibly naive or stupid in other ways.

If she'd just posted something on social media about supporting Black Lives Matter, she would have been absolutely fine, with no repercussions. If she'd just made the stabbing joke to her friends, without posting it on social media, she would have been absolutely fine. But no, she had to combine those two things together.

As the old saying goes, common sense isn't that common...
