Recently I got a pair of trousers in “rust” that turned out to be more red than I thought (looked more brown in pics) so I have the same question re. red trousers. I def want to avoid the CM casual look with this kind of trousers.

I found this fit I liked from a Reddit user (don’t know his username). I dig the colour palette.

I think I’ll simply wear mine with an oversized white or cream t shirt and white sneakers in the summer, since fabric is quite thin.

thanks for the input. i agree cream / ecru would look really good. i also think something like an ocre or gold might work as well, similar to the photo you included. will have to try it out. i really dig the pants and they fit extremely well so i'm reluctant to give up on them.

Hmm, I have a pair of red slacks (they're not fire engine red though more like strawberry) I wear with a grey turtleneck and a beige jacket, works allright. Also patterned yellow-ish 70s shirt and some navy outerwear.
