Sounds like, despite awful circumstances, you’ve been given a gift to be able to step back and reexamine your life, determine what’s important and explore new possibilities.@cocostella no offense taken! I think having a hundred or so pieces of clothing I had spent countless hours collecting, that I had to keep safe moving cross country and in tiny Brooklyn apartments, was in a way hilariously taxing. A sort of Smaug like affair. So while yes I've had a few rough days overall I'm more zen about things. I've been putting some thought into not retreating right back to my old mentality, like I won't be rebuying anything I previously owned as that sounds like a horribly sad pursuit. I also stopped drinking about a year ago after realizing I didn't really enjoy it or like who I was when drinking. So it's most likely a mix of the above and growing up in general.
