Incidentally - plenty of stock of Rolex Sport Models in Hong Kong last week.
Offered a Deep Sea at list from an AD.
Daytona's at way above list available.
Similar story in Macau, with 2 AD's offering 5%

Congrats!!! You know you owe us a wrist shot...as kids say, without pix it didn't happen!

I love my blue dial Santos! Sorry, but can't help being an enabler, especially around the holidays.
I know right... I have to wait until Christmas, as it is being shipped out of State

What kind of stock exactly? The buzz seems to be that stock replenshiments are happening with more frequency.

I’ve wanted a Rolex for so long I haven’t even thought about anything else. But I’ve found myself being drawn to Omega more over the last few months, probably because of Bond to be honest. They suit my aesthetic more and aren’t as obvious as Rolex. What do you all think of the 300m from the Pierce Brosnan era? Very tempted.

One for @Thrift Vader , the logical evolution of the Genta designs may be the Credor GCAR977 with its slim and more robust high accuracy quartz movement.

1296905

Its current market price (for a Credor) reflects its popular appeal perhaps? I might grab one...

Resist the temptation. Time hasn't been kind to that watch — which was pretty tacky to begin with — and it's far more obvious than a Submariner, plus I doubt you'd be satisfied with such a distant also-ran.

Allow me to be on the opposite team, for once. I own that exact model, the 2541.80 Quartz from 1995 GoldenEye, and I love it. Sure, the aesthetics aren't for everybody, but I wouldn't call it tacky either. Now, I'm lusting about the newer SMP300 though, as I think it would be fun to have the two, 25-years-apart brothers.

To each his own, I guess! :fistbump:

EDIT* re-read your post, and it's true that if what @Purplelabel really wants is a Rolex, the 2541.80 would be a let down. I think it is a watch you have to appreciate on its own, not in lieu of something else you'd rather have but can't, for whatever reason that is.

There's an old saying: "The most expensive watch is the one you buy instead of the one you really want." If you're happy with the Omega, go for it. If you're trying to convince yourself that it will substitute for the Rolex, wait for and save up for the Rolex.
