Looking for recommendations on where to get selvedge denim alterations done. Hem and taper. Was thinking Dutil but site says they don't do tapers anymore.

Following. I have asked this question before, and spoke to a few selvedge guys on IG. Most of the stores recommended (including Dutil) either don't do the work I want, or won't work on denim that wasn't bought from them. Even Ben Viapiana no longer works on stuff he didn't make.

I've been thinking of trying this guy:

My selvedge need hemming, so that I only need to roll one time. And a few pair also need tapering/adjustments after some weight loss.

I'd love to hear other recommendations.

Ya, noticed the same.

I've used Frank at Doctor Denim in the past for blown out crotch repair and he did great work.

Just messaged him and while he does selvedge tapering he can't do chainstitching on the hem if you need that.

Going to try this guy https://www.instagram.com/denim.repair.service/ as he's a bit closer to me.

I've taken some old Levis 501 and Anglo Italian denim to Coffee & Clothing on Gerrard. They were quick to do the work and turned it around within a day. Overall I'm happy with the repairs.

No one can touch Ben @Viapiana when it comes to denim bespoke and alterations in Toronto!

I used Ben back in the day (the flip a cuff to show off the selvedge days) and he did an impressive job. To my knowledge he stopping doing alterations a while back.

I've used Frank the Denim Doctor multiple times and he's done excellent work on blowouts and alternations on heavy selvedge denim.

Let me know about the IG repair shop. I'd like to know where he's located. Otherwise I'll use Frank from Doctor Denim.

PSA: I was at Bergdorf Goodman in NYC a few weeks ago during a John Lobb trunk show. The rep (Mathew) said he planned to be at Holt Renfrew November 9-11 for another trunk show. On Holt Renfrew's site I see there's an 'event' scheduled for November 17 & 18 and I'm assuming this is the same thing.

I know there was some chatter on this thread about whether Holt is selling a lower line of John Lobbs, this would be a way to get definitive answers.
