Is there something more horrible than your favourite death stick provider being out of your cigarette of choice. I'm smoking Gauloises red (light) instead of my usual blue (regular) and hating it. Curse you light cigarettes and your awful lack of taste!!!

Friend sent me a bunch of Sobranie Pinks which taste like crap though they do look good with my girly hands. Of all the slim cigarettes I've smoked, Esse Menthol is the best.

I love my CAO Brazilia and Rocky Patel Cigars. A fine way to wind down an evening or enjoy an afternoon.

If you like the Rocky Patel Sungrown, check out the Factory 2nds and Factory Selects at Famous Smoke Shop if you haven't already. I've smoked a ton of them and find no difference between them and the 1sts other than appearance (very minor). Less than half the price and free shipping.

To the cigar smokers, even though this is SF and most of us are successful in our vocations, I still have a hard time believeing that so many of you smoke Cubans, unless you're smoking fakes. There are simply not enough Cubans out there to smoke the real stuff all the time.

For someone who smokes cigars regularly, some of the recent favorites have been:

Diamond Crown Maximus No.1
Don Pepin Garcia - Black Label, Cuban Classic (as close to a Cuban as it gets)
Oliva - Series S
Gurkha - Master Select

you smoke Cubans regularly if your wife has a British passport. She can bring in up to one box for her personal use. Also, if you go to Canada, buy Cubans and take off the bands, who can tell where they came from?

Question for you cigar smokers.

What is a good High quality starter cigar? Something light and not overwhelming for those of us who dont smoke regularly but occasionally end up in situations where it would be nice to light up but not nice to be overpowered by too much nicotene/"taste".

Sure. My comment was more of a general observation rather than being addressed to anyone in particular - too many people say the smoke Cubans, when close to 90% of those in USA are fakes. Even in England and Canada, I would make sure to buy them directly from the Case Del Habanos stores. There are too many enjoyable cigars other than Cubans.

I seldom smoke light cigars, unless I am craving something light as a breakfast smoke. For something that has the required quality, price, and availability, check out Oliva - Series S (close to a medium smoke but very flavorful). Enjoy!

Has anyone read Richard Klein's (sic..?) Cigarettes are sublime. I want to but I am finding it very difficult to get hold of a copy.
